Cupping

Cupping therapy is a form of alternative medicine that utilizes cups as a tool to create negative pressure by removing the air inside using heat. This negative pressure creates suction on the skin, causing stagnation of blood flow in the underlying tissues. This results in localized swelling and bruising known as petechiae, which is believed to promote healing by stimulating blood flow and reducing inflammation.

Cupping therapy is thought to draw out moisture and coldness from the body, helping to eliminate pathogenic factors and boost the immune system thereby eliminating toxins and giving an energising effect. It has been used to treat various musculoskeletal conditions, such as sprains, strains, and back pain, as well as respiratory disorders and digestive issues. For local tissue damage, lumbar disc herniation and other symptoms, cupping also has an effect. Regular long‐term cupping can reduce pain and relieve symptoms.
